- Tranceiver KENWOOD TS-430S -
I bought this transceiver used from a radio-friend back in the '27MHz days' - The radio suffered from over-heating in the HF-Final stage. Many years of over-heated usage had made almost al electrical wiring inside to brake down. I spent many nights with the soldering-iron to replace many 'crispy' wires. Also had problems with the mode 'jumping' thing, read about a mod for this problem and solved it. Finally, this is by fare the most trouble bringing rig that has entered my shack ewer!

I had the radio for some time, finaly it got some problems with the modulation, and i dumped it to another radio-friend who has mutch more knowledge and nerves to deal with it. I think he is still using it on the bands.

On occasions when the radio actually worked, the performance was quite nice! So mainly the problems i had with it might be random with the single one that i had. (Note the display readout!)
