- Hy-Gain TH-7DX 3-Band vertical beam -

The TH7DX first 'flight' @ my QTH, OKTOBER-24 2003

It looks like the antenna is working, after nearly 30-years of usage. I disassembled the antenna, with the traps and everything. I then re-assembled it according to the original manual.

The initial test-run only tells me that the SWR is according to specifications, a little high on 20meter, but i think this is due to ground reflection, the antenna is now only about 12 meters above ground and only 6 meters away from a metal roof...

I will trye to get better location for the antenna, and also some real compare usage on the bands, so fare it gives higher S-readings on some signals comming in with low angle (DX) from short-path beaming north/west for USA/Canada, This is al i know at present time.
